Bella Get's Her Ears Pierced!

Today was a BIG and IMPORTANT day for my little Bella Boo! The deal was, if she could stop sucking her thumb for 4 weeks she would earn a trip to get her ears pierced. She was one determined little girl, because as soon as that challenge was put in front of her, she quit . . . practically on the spot. We had to "start over" our month a couple of times . . . cuz it was SO TEMPTING sometimes, but . . . last night marked the last night of the four weeks without her thumb! She told me today that, "It doesn't even taste good anymore, Mom!"

All last night and today she's been singing, "Hooray, Hooray . . . I get my ears pierced today!" So cute!

So without further ado:

Here is a VERY excited Bella before she got her ears pierced

Getting her ears prepped

She doesn't look too sure about this part . . . she knew it was supposed to pinch a little

My happy and very proud little girl! She didn't even cry or say, "ouch!"

Admiring her new bling!

Our Anniversary Card from Faith

Our Wedding Day

Me pregnant with Faith . . . notice the movement in my belly! That was accurate . . . she was a mover and a shaker - and still is!

Embryo Faith - a.k.a. ultrasound picture

I look frustrated in this picture . . . but Faith was actually a very easy baby!

Baby Faith in her crib . . . notice her buns in the air

This is us finding out we're going to have another baby!

Us at the dinner table - Faith in the high chair - like my pregnant belly?

Faith just "knew" the baby was a girl the whole time. Mike and I thought she was a boy - until the day Bella Boo was born!

One big happy family

Happy 15th Anniversary! My cup over flows!
I've posted this picture before . . . but it's my absolute favorite from our "dating years", so I thought I'd post it again. This pic was taken by my 1966 Chevelle Malibu. I was 16, Mike 17. We had no idea what was ahead for us!

May 26, 1995 - True Love!

Our wedding party. My have we all changed! Thankfully we all seem to get better looking every year!

The last 15 years have been quite the ride - many ups - many downs . . . but all of them spent with my best friend in the whole world! Michael, I love you with all of my heart, and look forward to what the Lord has in store for us in the future.

Mini-Vacay to Schaumburg

Between Mike's and my schedule's lately, we've had very little time to REALLY invest in our family. So, despite MUCH work that needed to be done at home, we took a much needed mini-family-vacay to Schaumburg, IL - home of IKEA and Legoland! WE packed the car with fresh boxes of crayons, coloring books, snacks, books, and a hilarious game called "Would You Rather?" and hit the road Friday afternoon. After the 4 hour drive, we arrived safely in Schaumburg at the Embassy Suites. It had a kickin' pool, hot tub and sauna, and an even cooler full-service morning breakfast buffet (all you can eat custom-made omlets, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, oatmeal, fruit, and all the other amenities one could ask for)!

I don't think the girls even cared that we were planning on going to IKEA and Legoland - they were ALL ABOUT the swimming pool and hot tub! They had a blast swimming, picking whatever they wanted for breakfast, NOT having to make their beds, working (fighting over) the buttons on the elevator and the keycard, and watching TV and eating popcorn IN BED! And that was all the first night we arrived!

The rest of our trip included a successful and fun trip to IKEA, a trip to Legoland, a REAL movie in a REAL movie theater, Gino's East Pizza and some really great memories! What's not to love about a well-planned road-trip! Here are some pictures from our weekend away!

My girls enjoying the hot tub!

Bella couldn't be happier! There's nothing she likes more than swimming!

Bella in the lion's mouth . . . she doesn't look as terrified as Faith

We had the chance to watch a 4D movie . . . it was a 3D movie that added a "4th D" by creatively using lights and wind - even snow that fell on us! It was hilarious seeing all the kids reach out and try to touch the things "coming out" of the screen at us!

Daddy and Bella on the Legoland glider ride . . . the faster you pedal, the higher you go!

Daddy and Bella working hard on their car (I'm pretty sure that Mike had more fun at Legoland than the girls did - it brought him back to his childhood)

Faith with her completed train - it took her almost 40 minutes to build it just right

Measuring up her competition

She won first prize! The Lego block she's holding up is inscribed with the words, "Lego Challenge Winner" she couldn't have been more excited!

After Legoland we went to the actual movie theater to watch Shrek Forever After. After the movie we picked up a pizza at Gino's East and headed back to the hotel for some more swimming!

She's at it again!

I was wondering why Bella put Lucy in a duffle bag . . . then Faith reminded me that they recently watched the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua . . . now it all makes sense!
